I had an idea! What about Fir? It's Rif backwards so easy to remember, and it's a type of pine tree so it's foresty too. Fir the Fox Fur!

If it's mostly the name of the fursuit being Rif that's a concern, then just name the fursuit something else other than Rif...but keep your fursona as Rif then :)

There's lots of people who have their own fursonas, but walk around in fursuits that have their own names/personalities and stuff :)

That way, you can still be Rif :)

And remember, I got my name from a song from Boston, but I doubt they'll sue me because I'm going around "I'm HollyAnn!" and stuff.

Why wouldn't it ever be worn again?

Well here's an out of the box solution I think nobody is thinking of. 1. Look up what the actual law is, Names aren't covered under copyright law http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ1.html#wwp . 2. You don't have to be Rif from Inherit the earth. If you create a story or comic then you could be Rif from whatever that is , and it only being a coincidence that the characters look the same. Because I'm quite sure that they can't get you for "independently" ;) ;) coming up with the character. 3. You could contact the company and politely request the ability to use their character if you want to go that route. So there is more than one way to skin a cat if you know what I mean. eh?
